[Found] Olympus XA 35mm

First produced in 1979, the diminutive Olympus XA camera quickly found favour with enthusiast photographers won over by its sharp lens, compact dimensions, sturdy casing and exposure controls.

The XA is a tiny 35/2.8 RF coupled electronically shuttered Aperture priority Automatic Exposure camera.

Sporting a comprehensive 25-800 ISO rating, fast 6 element, 5 group f2.8 35mm Zuiko lens, electromagnetic feather-touch shutter release and 10 seconds to 1/500 shutter speeds, this was a true go-everywhere camera, ideal for fast street shooting.

This beast has been lying around for years. Maybe its time to unleash its powress.

Lighting was pretty bad so i had the NEX tuned up to ISO 1600.

Pretty good tolerance i must say.

The Journey

Took this at Singapore's Budget Terminal after check-in.

The corridor was very long and dimly litted, and it was especially more lonely to walk that corridor when i was travelling alone.

I delibrately pushed the exposure down to the max to bring out the gloominess.

Picture was not post-processed.

I Miss You Already...

She has left for the states, for two weeks.

Before that she was in KL for two weeks.

Nonetheless, absence makes the heart grow fonder. =)

Lavagraphy

Lava lamps never fail to captivate me with their fluid motions.

All the physics in one simple lava lamp.

Watching the Lava heat up, rise and collide, disintegrating in the process.

Fascinating.

Everyone is just so happy at the playground. And the colors there are so vibrant and cheerful !

Lost in Translation

Colleague of mine was sweet enough to write my name in Hindi, Tamil & Sanskrit on his Notebook.

Well, in return i had to write his Indian name in Mandarin.

The wrinkles on their face speaks volume about their experiences...each representing the joy,pain and laughter experienced through the years.

Her eyes always look glassy and youthful despite her persistent smoking.

She speaks with child-like innocence despite her old age.

Only when we give joyfully, without hesitation or thought of gain, can we truly know what love means.

I'm glad i join volunteer-ism, albeit less often these days.

Dun be threaten by their old age. Beneath the wrinkles and cataracts are heaps of interesting stories and life experiences waiting to be heard!

Solo short trip

Went to KL to do some solo exploring for the first time.

This is also the first time i'm using the Sony NEX-3.

Loved the images Sony NEX produced.

Aromatherapy

Had loads of incense cone. Decided to burn them on a fine boring afternoon.

The smoke these cones generated were not as nice-smelling as i thought, but it was visually captivating.

Decided to capture the swirls of smoke as they fill the voids in my room.
